Director, Audiobook Production, Penguin Random House Canada
Ann Jansen joined Penguin Random House Canada in 2017 to help launch the company’s audiobook program. Now Director, Audiobook Production, she has overseen a rapidly growing team, which has to date created more than 150 original titles produced in Canada. Many of the recordings are done in PRHC’s in-house studio, which was built in early 2018. Ann is working with colleagues at PRH Audio in the U.S. to let agents and actors know about Ahab.com, an international narrator database. Previously, Ann was a Senior Producer at the CBC, where she led the launch of CBC Books online and developed Canada Reads into a multi-platform live program following months of promoting the books and panelists. Ann also co-founded and produced the long-running book-reading show Between the Covers; commissioned stories and poetry from established and emerging authors; and directed award-winning radio plays, including The Handmaid’s Tale.
